Ich bin heute in Limbach-Oberfrohna bei Sport MEISEL gewesen und habe mir einen AQUANOVOBOOT Skistiefel vom Chef selber für mich anpassen lassen. Ich war sehr zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis und mit der freundlichen, hochqualifizierten Arbeit!

Having realised that my old Technicas were reaching the end of their life after 10 years very good service, including several full winter seasons ski instructing and free skiing, I started shopping around for new boots in January 2022.

I tried several boots in several places but was quite frustrated that I couldn’t find anything I was absolutely certain about or that I felt as comfortable and secure in as my old Technicas. I was also encouraged to go for boots that I found were too small for me and I wasn’t at all confident in the advice I was being given. I then went to Intersport Scholz in Zell am See and was served by Jakob who asked if I was interested in standard ski boots or custom fitted ones.

I asked for standard ones and Jakob spent time advising me and showed me several possibilities, two or three of which I tried on. There was one pair that I liked but I wasn’t totally sure so I asked Jakob to tell me about the AquaNovo custom-fitted boots (which I had not heard of before). He explained the process really clearly and it sounded very impressive. He was clearly very enthusiastic about the boots, but he didn’t try a hard-sell tactic at all, just spent plenty of time with me, and gave me good, clear and honest information. He also gave me a leaflet and advised me to look up the details on the website. When I got home I did a bit of research and liked what I read and decided to give it more consideration.

I went back to the shop a few days later when by chance a young German lady was being fitted. It was really useful to see the process, talk to her and also ask some more questions to Jakob, such as how long AquaNovo boots had been around, whether they were likely to be as durable as normal ski boots, whether i might be able to tour in them as well as ski downhill, and whether Jakob actually skied in them himself. Jakob came across as being really helpful, knowledgable and experienced and much more interested in finding absolutely the right boot for me than some of the other sales assistants I had encountered elsewhere.

All of his answers convinced me that these boots were going to be worth the extra 100 euros, but the very nice German lady I’d met also kindly said that she would text me when she had tried them out. A couple of days later I received a message from her which was very positive. I’d more or less made up my mind by then anyway, but this just convinced me even more.

I was leaving Austria a couple of days later but decided to book a fitting appointment on my return in March. The care and attention to detail that went into the fitting was really impressive and further convinced me that I’d made the right decision. Jakob also assured me that if I had any problems I should take the boots back. He also warned me that I might find it quite difficult to get my feet in and out of the boots for the first couple of days until they had softened up a bit. This was true, but they were instantly very comfortable and easy to wear. I have now done about 15 days quite intensive alpine skiing around the Zell and Saalbach region and 6 ski tours on the Schmittenhöhe, Maiskogel and Ronachkopf.

The boots are super-comfortable and warm and I have been amazed that I have had no problems using them for touring at all - no pain, no blisters, no sore spots, which has never been the case with me before! Jakob had told me that I should adjust the flex from 120 to 110 for touring (which is very easily done with just one quick turn of an alum key). In fact, the first time I forgot about this and it wasn’t a problem at all. But the next time I remembered and they felt even better. For downhill skiing too, they are amazing, they feel really comfortable but really secure and I have a really good feel for my skis underneath them which feel really responsive.

I cannot recommend these boots highly enough and was most impressed with the service I received at Intersport Scholz. Jakob was incredibly helpful, patient, informative and knowledgeable and just came across as a really nice, enthusiastic guy, who gave me real confidence that I was making the right decision without ever pushing me into anything. Intersport Scholz in Zell am See will definitely be my first choice shop whenever I need any new skiing equipment.

Super Sportgeschäft mit Top-Auswahl. Habe dort Skischuhe von AquaNovoBoot gekauft und seitdem keine Probleme mehr. Kann ich nur empfehlen.
